The works are built from the inside out; voids are ordered first and external structures are built to encapsulate these spaces. The works explore space – using glass as a substrate activated by light. The material qualities of glass – transparency and translucency – are the agents within the work that create the dialogue between voids and solids.
The language of architectural form influences my work as I am most interested in the tension and ambiguity between what is man made and what is organic. I see parallels between bodies and buildings and through the interplay of positive and negative space allude to personal and psychological space.
